If your company runs Odoo in the UAE, your invoices must leave Odoo as structured Peppol PINT-AE files through an Accredited Service Provider from 1 January 2027 (revenue of AED 50 million or more) or 1 July 2027 (everyone else). Standard Odoo does not do this yet. Devvista is a software development and growth agency and an official Odoo partner that connects Odoo to UAE e-invoicing, implements Odoo for UAE companies and migrates them from older systems.

Your 2027 problem: Odoo prints invoices, the UAE now wants structured data

Under Ministerial Decisions 243 and 244 of 2025, UAE businesses must issue and receive invoices as structured electronic files exchanged over the Peppol network, not as PDFs attached to an email (EY, Deloitte). The UAE format is called PINT-AE, and each invoice travels through an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) that validates it, passes it to the buyer's ASP and reports the tax data to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).

That is a problem if Odoo is your finance system. Odoo's UAE localisation handles 5% VAT, reverse charge, the VAT201 return, a corporate tax report and Central Bank exchange rates (Odoo 19 UAE documentation). It does not generate PINT-AE files or talk to an ASP, and the UAE is not on Odoo's list of Peppol countries (Odoo e-invoicing docs). The Odoo 20 release notes from September 2026 add UAE accounting changes but no UAE e-invoicing (Odoo 20 release notes).

So the gap between your Odoo database and the FTA has to be closed by a connector, configured data and testing, and that work has a deadline.

Which go-live date applies to your business

The rollout is phased by revenue, with a separate date for government entities. These dates come from Decision 244 as amended in May 2026 (Ministry of Finance, KPMG).

Why Odoo users in the UAE are running late

When we look at an Odoo database that is not ready, the cause is usually one of these:

  • Waiting for Odoo to ship it. An answer on the Odoo forum says native support is being developed, but as of October 2026 it is in no released version and has no announced date. Waiting has already eaten months.
  • Customer and supplier records are incomplete. PINT-AE needs tax identifiers and structured addresses for every B2B party. Databases built over years often have TRNs typed into notes, missing emirates, or one contact used for three legal entities.
  • An old Odoo version. Odoo supports only its last three major versions (Odoo supported versions). Companies still on Odoo 16 have fewer connector choices and may need an upgrade first.
  • Invoices that get edited after posting. Resetting a posted invoice to draft and changing it is a habit in many finance teams. Once invoices are reported, corrections go through credit notes instead.

The five steps to get Odoo e-invoicing ready

  1. Confirm your phase and choose an ASP. Check your revenue band and shortlist providers from the Ministry of Finance ASP list, which named 70 accredited providers when we checked on 25 October 2026. Ask each one how they connect to Odoo.
  2. Audit your Odoo data. Export customers, suppliers, taxes and products and flag missing TRNs, addresses and tax mappings. This is usually the longest part.
  3. Pick a connection method. A third-party Odoo app, a custom connector to your ASP's API, or the ASP's own connector. We compare them on the Odoo UAE e-invoicing integration page.
  4. Test in the ASP sandbox. Send standard invoices, zero-rated and reverse charge invoices, credit notes and deliberately broken invoices, and check how rejections come back into Odoo.
  5. Go live and watch the first month. Track rejected and unsent documents daily until the numbers are stable.

What Devvista does for UAE businesses

Odoo e-invoicing integration (PINT-AE and ASP)

We connect your Odoo to the ASP you choose, clean the data PINT-AE needs, map your Odoo taxes to UAE tax categories, and build status tracking so your accountant sees rejected invoices inside Odoo instead of in an ASP portal. Details: Odoo UAE e-invoicing integration.

Odoo implementation for UAE companies

For companies moving to Odoo, we set up VAT, corporate tax tagging, multi-company structures for mainland and free zone entities, and industry flows for trading, contracting and facility management, with e-invoicing built in from the start. See Odoo implementation for UAE businesses and our global Odoo implementation service.

Migration from other systems

We move opening balances, open invoices, customers, suppliers and stock from spreadsheets, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Tally or an older Odoo version, and reconcile them before cut-over.

Automation around Odoo

Approval rules, payment reminders, rejection alerts and reports that used to be built by hand in Excel. Our AI and workflow automation work covers the parts Odoo does not do on its own.

Is Devvista the right fit for you?

A good fit if you already run Odoo (or have chosen it), you have between a handful and a few hundred users, you need e-invoicing working before your phase date, and you are comfortable working with a partner over video calls rather than in person.

Not a fit if you need a team on site in Dubai every week, you want an ASP (we are not one, and nor is Odoo), or your ERP is SAP or Oracle. For on-site support, the Odoo partner directory lists 122 UAE-based partners. Your ASP and your tax adviser stay responsible for their parts; we make Odoo send the right data to them.

How you will know your setup is working

  • First-time acceptance rate: the share of invoices your ASP accepts without a correction. Aim for close to 100% after the first few weeks.
  • Open rejections: invoices rejected and not yet fixed. This should be zero at each month end.
  • Unsent documents: posted invoices or credit notes that never left Odoo.
  • Penalty exposure: under Cabinet Decision 106 of 2025, each invoice or credit note not issued or sent as required can cost AED 100, capped at AED 5,000 per month for each type (EY). Unsent documents are money at risk.

How we work with UAE companies remotely

Devvista is a US-registered company whose working hours overlap the UAE business day. We do not have a UAE office or licence and we do not pretend to. Projects run through scheduled video calls, a shared task board and a test database you can log into at any time.

Our Odoo projects are under NDA, so we cannot name Odoo clients. You can see our published non-Odoo work on the work page, and we will walk you through a sanitised Odoo example on a call.

Where to go next

Straight
Answers.

Not as of October 2026. Odoo's UAE localisation covers VAT, the VAT201 return and a corporate tax report, but no released version generates PINT-AE files or connects to an Accredited Service Provider. Native support is reported to be in development; until it ships, you need a third-party app, a custom connector or a connector from your ASP.

No. Odoo does not appear on the Ministry of Finance list of accredited providers. You contract an ASP from that list separately, and Odoo sends invoice data to it through a connector.

Any Odoo partner or developer who can map Odoo data to PINT-AE and integrate with your ASP's API. Devvista is an official Odoo partner that does this remotely for UAE companies, alongside full Odoo implementations and migrations from other systems.

No. Devvista works with UAE companies remotely, during hours that overlap the UAE business day, using video calls and shared test databases. If you need weekly on-site visits, a Dubai-based partner is a better choice.

Your dates are later: appoint an ASP by 31 March 2027 and go live by 1 July 2027. That still leaves less time than it sounds, because data clean-up and testing in Odoo often take two to three months.

Businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026 and go live on 1 January 2027. Businesses below that threshold must appoint one by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027. Government entities go live on 1 October 2027. The full table is on our UAE e-invoicing deadlines page.

PINT-AE is the UAE version of the Peppol international invoice format. Under the UAE system your invoice data travels as a structured PINT-AE file from your system to your Accredited Service Provider, then to your customer's provider, with tax data reported to the authorities. A PDF sent by email does not count as an e-invoice.

Usually not. If your current system can produce clean invoice data and connect to an Accredited Service Provider, you can keep it. Businesses on old desktop accounting software, or with invoice data spread across spreadsheets, often use the deadline to move to an ERP such as Odoo instead of patching the old system.
